Well,

The NY Giants were the better team today, mostly due to Eli's leadership and a great performance from the NY Giants defense.

Next weeks Championship game between the 49ers and the Giants at Candlestick should be one hell of a street fight, one heck of a game. Sure would make for a better game if both Eli Manning and Alex Smith were more mobile outside of the pocket, a lesson learned from Aaron Rodgers perhaps.

Yesterday's 49ers game was broadcast locally in the Bay Area on CBS KPIX Chnl 5. Todays Giants / Packers game was broadcast on Fox KTVU Chnl 2.

I swear to god there was more commercial air time today than the actual football game. This really makes for a painful viewing experience and totally ruins the flow of the game validating the absolute value of Tivo, not Tebow.

Sorry Wisconsin, you just can't win them all in life. However, you guys have had a good run the last two years.

ABC -> Another Boring Commercial
CBS -> Commercials Bring Silver
NBC -> Nothing But Commercials

He won't get the chance. The Ravens D are going to have their way with Brady.

I want to know who threatened that referee's life. That was the most blatant miss of a reviewed call I've ever seen and it's not even close. I hope the NFL explains how they missed that one. The folks at the League Offices must have been crapping their pants. Good thing the game ended the way it did. Times Square would have been set ablaze if the G-Men had lost.

"Word just in to the KTTV News Service undeniably links THIS REF and HIS WIFE to drug abuse and pay-offs as part of a San Joaquin Valley SMUT RING! Not to mention the roughing call on Osi or the bad spot on 3rd and two. It makes you wonder if the league has an agenda.

Hey RBNW, you better hope the niners win!

FML?

That's just a tad cryptic, i'd expect some level of bitterness but because you are mostly a gentleman around here i'll choose not to read into it.

Be grateful for all the good that you have and also thankful that you won't have to suffer through Madonna's half-time show during this years Super Bowl.

If you think about it, Lambeau Field was essentially a television studio today. With the multitude of audio/video broadcasting equipment and multiple angle views you'd think it was a porn studio.

Today was a completely different experience compared to the 1967 Ice Bowl when Bart Starr stuck it to the Dallas Cowboys on a quarterback sneak late in the game on a -30 degree wind chill afternoon. I believe his salary with the Packers in 1967 was somewhere south in the neighborhood of $100K.

I’ll add my following commentary from yesterday’s post;

Yep,

You can hear the sound of corks-a-poppin out here this evening as if it were New Years Eve. Candlestick exploded today like the upcoming California earthquake.

Harbaugh has done an exceptional job, the 49ers success is directly related to Harbaugh's "teammenship" and a defense that would make Mike Singletary proud.

The cinderella stories to my eyes this year are both the 49ers and the NY Giants. Eli Manning is awesome in terms of accuracy. Hopefully the game tomorrow will be close and fun to watch. I just don't know if Green Bay is as hungry as they were last year and both teams are conditioned for the frozen tundra. The true mark of a champion is the ability to come back from behind.

In terms of the Patriots, Brady and the NFL, this is the time of year when I get just a tad cynical, the sound of coin droppin in Vegas, the revenue stream of advertising, international TV Networks, NFL Films and merchandising equaling banco deniro in the gazillions.

Hopefully the game tomorrow will be close and fun to watch.

Peace out!

PS "teammenship" is a word derived from my artistic license, sorta like a mulligan in golf!
